The love hotel area in Ikebukuro where I frequented during my travels is about five minutes' leisurely stroll from the North exit (北口） of Ikebukuro Station. Keep going straight towards where the road parts into the freeway and you should see hotel names across the road to your left. Cross at the crossing (last I looked there was a shop/club thing with a watermelon on the sign) and enter the hotel area. Hooray!
